Point Cook and Williams Landing are part of Melbourne's booming outer suburbs that will need 250 to 350 new schools within the next 10 years or face cramming 150,000 extra students into increasingly overcrowded campuses.
Government’s broken funding promises and a lack of proper planning have left a "critical undersupply" of schools in our community despite our fast population growth.
The lack of diversity of schools in Wyndham is also a concern for local parents who have educational preferences for their kids.
Some parents have to travel as far as Geelong, Williamstown and other neighbouring suburbs to enrol their kids
In council, in addition to ongoing advocacy for government funding for our local schools to build more facilities to accomodate our kids educational needs I will be advocating for:
Advanced planning of school
Support for independent private education providers.
